pyramid game (2024) |
05/10/2024 watched the final episode last night. the butchfemme couple was quite cute. although it was clear they had feelings for each other, making it clear would've been better. it feels like it was allowing space for lesbophobic deniability. the rest of the characters were interesting. a couple of the things i didn't like were the way the domestic abuse from the character's father was handled and the use of the term "psychopath." with the high schooler that was commiting violence toward others while receiving physical abuse at home, it didn't wrap things up and showed her getting hit in a way that made it seem like that's what she deserved. there was no nuance there. with the term "psychopath," there was constant use and dehumanizing one of the main characters through it. oh yeah and normalizing stalking?? and obsession?? was weird. i did enjoy all the toxic and manipulative characters lol more works of fiction need to make basically all women cast. |
