2/09/2024 on trauma. the city as a character. characters and city served to covey messaging so oftentimes there were points of overly coincidental events or scripted conversation. didn't really detract from the book in my experience. as someone who also wants to change my name and move countries to get away from everything and everyone... wake up call i guess. i love lesbians. i love literature. i think about death and dying often. and she does too. |

Everyone in This Room Will Someday Be Dead by Emily Austin |
1/28/2024 disappointing read. the characters are very one dimensional. they have their lines which line up with their trope and never show complexity. autistic mc w anxiety and depression. some lines r relatable but overall not too much complexity with her either. the mc is shown to go out of her way and shows empathy and kindness toward a lost cat and strangers more than her trans sister tbh. she does worry about her alcoholism but never shows support for her being trans despite knowing or highly suspecting. overall just a stream of thoughts. like if u didn't experience most of these (with more depth) at age 14 yourself than you can just go on twitter or like idk random text blocks on are.na and see strangers share similar things lol |

1/15/2024 made me lose my mind even more with every chapter. no review can ever do it justice. very few books touch on the relationships between women like this book. insanity and love and tenderness and loss and vulnerability. |
